Winter Springs deserves better leadership.

Under Mayor Kevin McCann’s tenure, our city has faced repeated audit findings, water and wastewater failures, environmental violations, rising utility costs, and growing concerns about the management of taxpayer dollars. Time and again, residents have been told that problems were under control, only to learn later that the reality was far different. Questions surrounding the Mayor’s judgment, including the use of a City-issued credit card through a personal Uber account, have only added to the growing lack of confidence in City Hall.

Most recently, when Florida lawmakers advanced a proposal to let voters decide whether property taxes should be lowered, Mayor McCann posted a late-night tirade threatening to close the Senior Center, shut down parks, stop cutting grass, and even remove playground equipment. Rather than showing leadership discussing waste, efficiencies, or ways to prioritize spending, he put our property values at risk by pushing a false narrative that Winter Springs parks and amenities are likely to close down. Those comments embarrassed our community, alarmed residents, and projected weakness at a time when strong leadership is needed.

We believe Winter Springs deserves a Mayor who tells the truth, protects taxpayer dollars, addresses problems before they become crises, and puts residents first. If you have lost confidence in Mayor Kevin McCann’s leadership, join us in calling for his resignation and a new direction for Winter Springs.
